Bouncing to new heights: Hudson Brown’s trampoline dreams

BROWN Hudson bouncing to new heights

In the world of trampolining, Hudson Brown is quickly becoming a name to watch.

His journey began at the age of seven when he joined trampoline gymnastics classes at his local PCYC in the Redlands, and what started as a fun activity quickly turned into a burning passion. Over the past seven years, Hudson has dedicated himself to mastering his craft, driven by his excitement for learning new skills and the joy of seeing his hard work pay off.

Now aged 15, his years of commitment, focus and dedication have truly paid off. Earlier this year, he earned a spot at the World Cup in Portugal, where he spiraled two storeys into the air, competing against the best of the best.

The teenager’s impressive resume includes national and state titles, but his favourite memory is putting on his first Australian tracksuit.

He said his passion for trampoline is rooted in the exhilaration of the sport.

“My favourite thing about trampoline is the feeling of flying,” he said.

“Every time I am in the air, I just love it.

“It was always a dream to rep the green and gold and receiving the tracksuit was such an honour. Once I had put it on, the fact that I was representing my country started to feel real - it was one of my most memorable moments.”

Despite his achievements, Hudson’s journey to success hasn’t been an easy one. The excitement of representing his country is tempered by the harsh reality of the financial burden his family faces. As a self-funded athlete, his annual expenses – covering airfares, accommodation, specialised uniforms, training and other costs – exceed $30,000. For many elite athletes like Hudson, the cost of competing can be a significant barrier, and without financial support, many are forced to abandon their dreams.

To tackle these challenges, Hudson has teamed up with PeopleIN, Australia’s largest workforce solutions company, in our $1 Million Challenge powered by Ampol Australia. The partnership aims to raise $10,000 to support Hudson’s long-term trampolining ambitions. For Hudson, this support is not just about the immediate need – it’s about investing into the future of his athletic career.

“My whole life is centred around trampolining,” he said.

“The fundraising is incredibly valuable to me, and having support from PeopleIN will enable me to thrive as an athlete.”
