Australian Field of Play Jersey Funding Application

To be eligible for funding, applicants must: 

• Be an individual Australian athlete participating in a sport recognised by the Australian Sports Commission, or a registered Australian sporting club/team. 
• Require funding for an Australian field of play jersey — that is, a jersey worn to compete in, not general leisure or training apparel.
• Not have the jersey cost already fully covered or reimbursed by another organisation, sponsor, club, governing body, or any other third party. 
• Provide a valid invoice or quote for the jersey/s at the time of application. 
• Be able to receive payment via direct bank transfer, or have an outstanding invoice that can be paid directly to the supplier. 

Applications must be submitted via the official Aussie Athlete Fund Playing Jersey Funding Application form.

You only need to apply once per year per invoice. If you receive multiple separate jersey invoices across the year, you may submit a separate application for each one. 

Each application must include: 

• A valid invoice or quote clearly showing the supplier name, item(s), athlete or team name, and total cost. 
• If partially funded by a third party — the amount already covered and the outstanding amount being requested. 
• Confirmation that the jersey is not fully funded by another party. 

Payment details are not required at application stage — successful applicants will be contacted directly to arrange payment. 

Funding is assessed and paid on a quarterly basis to successful applicants. The four payment rounds each year are: 

• March
• June 
• August 
• November 

Once submitted, your application will automatically be considered in every subsequent quarterly round until the end of the last payment round — you do not need to reapply each quarter. 

Example: If you're not selected in August, your application rolls into November. But you'll need to resubmit on November 2 to be considered for the new calendar year. 

If you are selected, AAF will contact you directly via email to arrange payment for your jersey/s, whether that is a reimbursement to you or a direct payment to the supplier for an outstanding invoice. 

The amount of funding available in each payment round depends entirely on the profits generated by the Aussie Athlete Supporters Jersey sales and donations received through the ASF Jersey Project page. There is no guaranteed amount per applicant or per round. 

AAF reserves the right to: 

• Fund applications in full, partially, or not at all depending on available funds.
• Prioritise applications based on need, sport, timing, or other criteria at its discretion. 
• Suspend or close the program at any time if the funding pool is exhausted. 

The program will continue to operate for as long as Jersey Project profits are available. Applicants will be notified if the program is paused or closed. 

Successful applicants will be notified by email. To get things moving, applicants must reply to the notification email within 30 days of receipt to confirm: 

• Their preferred payment method (reimbursement to athlete/club, or direct payment to the jersey supplier if the invoice is outstanding).
• Their bank account details or supplier invoice details for payment processing. 
• That the jersey purchase is/was genuine and relates to the application submitted. 
• That no other funding has been received or is pending for the same cost. 

Failure to respond within 30 days of the notification email may result in the funding being forfeited and reallocated to another applicant.
